What ComplianceScout collects

After a successful sync, the following data is available in your ComplianceScout dashboard for violation detection and reporting.

  • All Datadog users with email, name, status, and last login
  • Role assignments per user (Admin, Standard, Read Only, or custom roles)
  • Teams and team memberships
  • Service accounts and API key ownership

Required credentials

These fields are collected when you add the connector in the ComplianceScout dashboard. Secrets are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM and are never logged.

How to set up this connector

Follow these steps to gather the credentials above and connect Datadog to ComplianceScout.

  1. Log in to Datadog and go to Organization Settings → API Keys → New Key. Name it "ComplianceScout" and copy the key.

  2. Go to Organization Settings → Application Keys → New Key. Name it "ComplianceScout" and copy the key.

  3. Ensure the user who owns the Application Key has the User Management permission in their Datadog role.

  4. In ComplianceScout, go to Data & Secrets → Integrations → Add Connector → Datadog, select your site, enter both keys, and click Test and Save.
