What ComplianceScout collects

After a successful sync, the following data is available in your ComplianceScout dashboard for violation detection and reporting.

  • All team members with email, display name, join date, and status
  • Group memberships and group names
  • Admin roles and team folder access
  • External sharing settings per member

Required credentials

These fields are collected when you add the connector in the ComplianceScout dashboard. Secrets are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM and are never logged.

How to set up this connector

Follow these steps to gather the credentials above and connect Dropbox Business to ComplianceScout.

  1. Go to dropbox.com/developers/apps and click Create app. Select Scoped access → Specific folder → Team files.

  2. Under Permissions, enable: team_data.member.read, groups.read, members.read.

  3. Generate an access token from the app settings page.

  4. In ComplianceScout, go to Data & Secrets → Integrations → Add Connector → Dropbox Business and enter the team token.
